WE will be arriving in Rennes on June 1 from Cork at 5:40. I see tht there is a train and a bus #57 that goes to the city but I am not sure how often they run and which to take into the city. Does anyone know what the schedule is for either? SNCF says it can't find a train for this trip. We have to meet other at our hotel and I would like to be able to give them a time.

The C6 bus is also an option (and a new one!). Here's the hours, if you go to page 14 of the pdf it should be the Saturday hours in the direction of the city center. République would be a major downtown stop in Rennes. You can get more info about line 57 here as well. Some of the time would depend on your hotel as well, since not everything will be in easy walking distance and could necessitate a change at République or another stop.

There is no train from the airport in Rennes (more precisely, the airport is located in St Jacques de la Lande), only buses to the city centre of Rennes.
