And if you prefer to improvise your route rather than prebook lodging, you might want to plan to not be in the same places the race, the publicity caravan, and the general madness will be, unless you just happen to meet up with some friendly Norwegians or Dutch folks who have a guaranteed camping spot with some space to share. (In those cases, I expect you should bring the beer)
