Reliability of traveling by train on a Sunday

Before I modify a trip I'm planning in France, have you run into issues trying to take a train on a Sunday in France? This would be from Angers to Tours the first Sunday of September.

We were stranded/delayed a bit in Italy on a Sunday during one of our trips, so I've always avoided making hotel changes on a Sunday.

Thanks!

Thank you, Simon, Bob & Andrew for your prompt replies of helpful information! I will go ahead and change my hotel reservation to stay overnight at Angers. I'm looking forward to seeing the castle at Angers & the tapestry, and stopping into their art museums if I have time. I found a nice, small hotel in the town center, so it should be a nice overnight stay.

The main problem would be if you were looking to rent a car upon arrival, as most car rental places are closed on Sundays (except for airports and big rental centers). If that's not part of your plan, there shouldn't be any problem. Transportation in departure and arrival cities will probably be on a Sunday schedule, which means less frequent service, but will still be running.

I am searching for words to describe the tapestry in Angers: incredible, awe inspiring, moving, very well presented in its own building. Enjoy!

Kim, I won’t need a car but might be looking to rent a bike for an hour or two for some casual exploring.

Elizabeth, glad to hear that you really enjoyed the Angers’ tapestry! As soon as I read about it, I was willing to add a 1-night stop to see it, the castle and the town.

Angers is one of those places on my list as a day trip from Paris -- we didn't manage to get there on our last trip but this is making me want to work it in this spring. Any other tips about making it a good trip. We might make it a day trip or spend one night.

Jean that should be fine! Biking in the Loire is top-notch from what I hear.

Janettravels44, if you will be there this Spring, you will see it before me. I will be there the end of August. You might want to consider combining it with a stop in Le Mans. I will be there, too, to see the Vieux Quartiers and Roman wall, etc. I’m traveling solo for that part of my trip, so I’m staying overnight in a B&B next to the cathedral. It’s one of those towns that caught my interest, and I’ve read nice reviews from people who lingered longer at that stop than they had expected.

In Angers, I’m planning to spend most of my time at the castle & seeing the tapestry. What’s left of the day will be at the two art museums before they close. Afterwards some nice walks around town. I’m staying overnight at Hotel Continental that is near Place du Ralliement.
