Is there any type of tram, bus or other transport in Reims that stops at the Champagne houses? Some appear too far to walk (my uncle is traveling with me, in good physical shape, but he is 85!), and I don’t want to drive after several Champagne tastings. Hopefully, there is at least a city bus that can get us nearby, at least.
Thank you for your help.
Here is the Reims public transit map. No idea about the location of various Champagne houses.

In general, many of the champagne houses are fairly close to each other,
and walkable from the railroad station. But, to play it safe, just take a cab
from the railroad station (assuming you are day tripping in and that's your
starting point) to the first house. You can definitely take a bus (hint, the map
which Sam references shows some of the bus stops are named after
champagnes), but for the relatively short distance, a cab is probably easier.
I'd arrange the tours, if you're doing more than one, to be fairly close to each
other, and have the last house call a taxi for you to go back to the station.
If I remember correctly, there are not that many restaurants in the vicinity of
most of the houses, so if you wanted to have lunch in between tours, you
might be limited in choice, or need to go back downtown and then come back.
The cathedral, which is a short walk from the station, is also worth a short visit.
Deb,
Yes to a stop at the cathedral. It has beautiful stained glass windows, plus nearly every king of France has been crowned there. A nice bonus!
Thank you for your quick replies. We will be in the Reims two days & nights, so we will see the cathedral, museum of surrender, etc.
Sam, the bus route map was exactly what I was hoping to find. It will be a great help in planning my days!
I just want to visit a couple of the Champagne houses, and not sure my uncle will be interested but want to make sure he can do so if he wants.
I was considering a drive & brief visit to Moet & Chandon in Epernay as we left; have any of you visited there?
Again my thanks to all of you for replying.
Deb,
Just a thought...depending on what you finally decide to do in Reims and perhaps Epernay.....Hautvilliers is near to Epernay. It is the village nearby to the monastery where Dom Perignon (he who discovered/created/invented champagne) is buried. There may be tours available in connection with tours to Epernay champagne wineries. A small chapel with garden, views looking down at rows of vines and villages below, altogether a nice, peaceful interlude. As I say, just a thought. We enjoyed a short visit there.
Moët & Chandon at Avenue de Champagne is an easy walk (about ten minutes) from the railway station in Épernay. The building is not directly charming, looks more like an office building, however the adjacent visitor center is much better. I enjoyed the tour there in 2006. They produce Dom Perignon too, you can buy it in the shop, well that was when I visited it and think still possible.
More champagne houses to find along the avenue and close to M&C a champagne museum too.
