Reims, Amiens, Nancy or Orleans?

Hi,
I've been fortunate to have visited Paris five or six times in the past 30 years. I'm going again on February 15, 2023 for a week. I've never been there at that time of year. I've been lucky to have seen everything on my "must see" list (including cities/regions all over France), but am considering spending a day/night (possibly 2) in Reims, Amiens, Nancy or Orleans, none of which I've been to before. I'm in my mid-50's, fit, and enjoy art museums, architecture, history, good food, fine wines and meeting people.

If anyone has been to any of these 4 cities, or all four, I'd love to hear your thoughts, recommendations, and suggestions on them. Thanks in advance.

I've only been to Nancy and Reims. I love Art Nouveau architecture, so Nancy was my place; it also has quite a few museums. Reims has a really fine cathedral and some champagne houses; I didn't visit the latter. I didn't find Reims' overall architecture as interesting as Nancy's.

We've recently been to Reims and Nancy. Reins was a good 1st stop close to CDG to recover from jet lag - not too much to absorb. We also like art deco so Nancy appealed. I seem to recall that museum opening should be checked (renovations?, unusual days?)

I have been to all of them. You can remove Orléans from your list altogether: there isn't much in terms of notable architecture (the cathedral is fine, but not top-tier I'd say) or art museums. Between the rest, I'd say Reims is more historically significant and ticks the wine box really well. But you can't go wrong with Amiens either. Nancy did not impress me as much, but my visit was not particularly thorough.

Of the 4 cities here, I have only been to 2 of them...Reims (once) and Amiens.

The main reason going to Reims was to see the Museum where the German surrender on May 8, 1945 took place, only saw a little of the town. I was under a time constraint since I had to get to Metz that night.

Amiens .....I've been there a few times on day trips, either from Paris or Arras. Both cities are well known for their cathedrals, absolutely for their connection to WW 1 history and WW2, if those topics are of interest to you. I like going to Amiens...fascinating and interesting.

Following my Best of Paris Steves tour (Feb '23), I'm considering 2 nights in Reims for the cathedral. champagne, & proximity to CDG as I fly out (God willing) on 20 Feb. Unfortunately the soccer/futball team is away on the 19th. ab
