Greetings!! I will be traveling to Paris in June - I have a little over a week to get from Paris down to Barcelona, where I will catch a flight to Mallorca to meet friends for a cycling trip. I would love some input on recommendations on traveling from Paris to Barcelona - I have spent some time in Lyon, Toulouse, and am happy to go there again (can you ever visit France enough?) but would love any advice on where to go. I will be taking the train (still working on how to figure that out - any advice on that as well?). I am thinking of trying to get down to Perpignan and going down the Costa Brava to Barcelona but I am totally open to anything. I am recently separated and will be a woman traveling alone so that is something to consider as well. Thank you in advance for your help and advice. CHEERS!
You can take a fast train from Paris to Barcelona in slightly over 6 hours.
I was just thinking about how much I enjoyed the Costa Brava - much more than the Cinque Terre. You could head straight for Barcelona and make day trips from there.
I like loco2.com for buying train tickets. It's user friendly and not a rip-off.

We used this company for day trips when we were in Barcelona in October 2017, and I highly recommend them:
Have a great trip!
Girona, about 45 minutes on the main train line north of Barcelona, is a pleasant medieval city with good restaurants and easy connections to such attractions as the Dali workshop museum in Figueres and the Costa Brava beaches.
