Hi,
I'm leaving Plan-d'Aups-la-Ste.-Baume (near Aubagne, which is just east of Marseille) early on a Saturday morning 10/1, and need to be in Geneva by the following Monday night, to catch a plane the next day. If you are familiar with the region between those two points, could you recommend a pleasant way to pass a few days en route? I prefer smaller towns and villages to cities, but would like to find some place not too far off a reasonable train route: i.e. not having to take up most of the time in train/bus station transfers. I'll have a France/Italy/Switzerland rail pass.
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks.
Annecy makes a good choice for your 2nd night. For the first night, look at Orange/Avignon, or possibly Lyon, if you have already toured Provence.
Thanks very much for the suggestion--I'll look into both places.
