My husband and I will be in Bayeux on June 24 for a couple of days and would like recommendations for a full-day tour of Normandy. Thank you in advance for suggestions.
I took a one day tour with Overlord Tours. It was one of the best tours I''ve ever taken.
Seconding Frank -- our tour was excellent and was the highlight of our trip that year.
We have a two day tour booked with Overlord in October. Al communication with them has been very prompt and professional. Some of the personal responses have been generated outside of normal working hours which really surprised me, so I definitely feel they are paying attention.
We booked our upcoming 5/28 D-Day tour with Bayeaux Shuttle (described in RS Guidebook). https://www.bayeuxshuttle.com/
They offer several options, and we preferred their offerings to Overlord Tours. We chose the full day tour, which gets good reviews. We will have 2 additional days in Bayeaux to explore other areas on our own (with rental car), including areas that the tour covers but that we think we will want to see in more depth.
I would decide soon which tour you prefer. Ditto for your Bayeaux accommodations if you haven’t booked yet. This is a popular destination this year, and Spring/Summer is peak season. We were shocked to learn that many hotels we were considering were already booked more than 3 months before our travel dates.
I hope Bayeux Shuttle has their act together. In October of 2021, they cancelled my D-Day tour with them the day before I was supposed to take it. They confirmed the tour one day then cancelled the next. I was already in Bayeux. Luckily, Overlord came through and had space for me.
There is a website for The Federation of Normandy Tour Guides, where you'll find a huge list of licensed/certified tour guides that you can choose from based on your interests and their areas of expertise:

I've never taken a dday tour but from my years of being on various travel forums the ones I see mentioned most often are Overlord, BattleBus, Band of Brothers, Bayeux Shuttle and various individuals who seem to have previously worked for one of these companies.
On another travel forum there used to be a poster who was a DDay tour guide (haven't seem them on the forums for a few years) and though I never met this person nor used their services they gave excellent advice and I feel comfortable referring you to their website. They can pick you up in their own car and drive you around, or if you have your own car you can pick them up (less expensive) or if you have your own car and want an inexpensive option they have an app/audioguide that you can download and drive yourself around to various sites.
The last year that BattleBus offered tours was 2010.

Edward Robinson. Very good tour!
