Recommendations for guided tours from Paris to Versailles, Giverny, Mont Saint-Michel

I'm traveling to Paris in July and would like to make a few day trips: Giverny, Versailles, Mont St. Michel

Are there any tours that have been especially good?

Mont St. Michel is very far for a day trip and so it makes sense to do a tour if you want to do that.

For Versailles and Giverny, there is just no reason to do a tour -- they provide no real value and restrict your freedom to spend the amount of time that you find works for you. You can take a train from St. Lazare to Vernon and the shuttle or bus to the gardens from the t rain station.

for Versailles, the RER C takes you there and back and you can spend as much or little time as you wish.

You might find a company offering a day trip to Mont Saint-Michel from Paris but I think that is a 3 1/2 hour drive, one-way (at least). You would spend nearly all day in transit. Best to leave that for another trip or plan to spend at least one night near Mont Saint-Michel as part of visiting there. We recently spent 5 nights in Combourg and hired a driver/guide living there to transport us to Mont Saint-Michel and other area sights.

Janettravels44’s advice is good for Giverny and Versailles. If you do decide to book tours for those day trips, I believe Rick’s France/Paris guidebook has suggestions.

Not sure if you would want to do this in July (might be weather dependent), but we did a bike tour for Versailles.

We met the group at the Montparnasse station in Paris, took the train to Versailles which is where we picked up the bikes. Biked to the palace, toured the palace, went to the market, and then biked the grounds of the palace in the afternoon. It was a lovely day.

Friends of mine enjoyed the Cityvision tour of Mont St. Michel that leaves from Paris. It’s a 14-hour day trip.

I've been researching this a lot and discovered that Youtube is CRAWLING with videos about all the possible daytrips out of Paris, either lists or ranked lists. And once you're narrowed it down, you can watch videos of the daytrip itself to see if it suits you.
