My husband and I are planning a three week trip to France approx. April 23 top May 14th. We plan on flying in and out of Paris and renting a car. We will pick up our car at the airport and then spend the first night somewhere just outside of Paris (maybe Versailles) where we can rest after our over night flight. Visit Versailles the next day and then head south to the Nice area. We would like to stay somewhere in the Nice area and use it as a home base for our 1 week stay to explore Monaco and other nearby sites. We love historical sites and museums. Can anyone recommend a nice Gites or small condo in this general area? Would you recommend a coastal location or does it really matter in April?
Then we would like to find a home base in the south western coast area maybe Narbonne area for a week.. Any recommendations for a location and accommodations in this area with good parking. The final 5 days we will spend in Paris after returning our car.
