Recommendations for France in late October

My wife and I have a trip planned to France October 21st - 31st. We want to end the trip with 4 nights and 3 days in Paris, but would like to spend the rest of our time in one specific region. We will be in London visiting a friend and plan on leaving for France early on October 21st. I am leaning toward Provence, but I wanted some input on what others think is the best region of France to visit in late October. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Any area of France is great to visit...anytime.:)
I have done both at this time of year and each trip was extraordinary.

Normandy, bayeux, mont st Michel, st Malo. ...moving, stunning scenery, very few tourists ,weather was still great most days

Provence and French Riviera...Avignon, nimes, carcassone, nice, etc..all the great towns and villages. Again, fewer tourists but the weather should still be good. It just depends on personal choice. But chances might be better for warmer weather in the south, but if you have not been to the Normandy I think it is an incredible time to visit as it seems much more special and less like a tourist destination when it is quiet and one can reflect.

I also wouldn't have any concerns about weather and sightseeing anywhere in France at the end of October, but carry some rain gear so that it doesn't rain.

Thanks for your recommendations. What about Dordogne in late October? I hear that some places close down near the end of October.
