I did a search of the forums, and checked the RS France guide, but have had no luck finding a recommendation for a "Rick Steves style" hotel in the Dijon City Center, pedestrian zone, area. Does anyone have any recommendations? Many thanks.

Not a hotel, but an apartment we loved, in May 2022: Logis des Fremyot, on booking.com as "Luxury Flat in Dijon." 80-something Euros a night, quiet, comfy, great central location. Nice owners on site.

Even if you can't (or won't) afford the MGallery, have a look at its restaurant (La Cloche), it was really quite good when I visited a few years ago, and reviews still look solid.
