Recommendations for Annecy

Hello. We have time in our itinerary for a 1 day stay in Annecy this coming fall for our anniversary. We just have a few things we'd like to do there. We would like to visit the old town area, take a boat ride on Lake Annecy, and have a nice dinner.

Any recommendations from fellow travelers in the following areas would be appreciated.

  1. Hotel very near the lake. (3-5 star ok).
  2. Boat tour provider (group or private, ok).
  3. Restaurant recommendation for dinner. Not looking for a particular price point, just a place with great food. A view of the lake would be nice too.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Hello,
We stayed in the Hôtel du Palais de L’isle for three nights — it is near the lake, and we loved it!
We didn’t take a boat tour, so no rec there.
We liked 2 restaurants: Les Chineurs de la cuisine, and Restaurant Cozna, which required a reservation.
Annecy is so beautiful, hope you enjoy your time there, There’s a great gelato place right across from the hotel along the river — definitely worth trying.
Cheers!
Marie

My husband & I stayed at the gorgeous Imperial Palace with a prominent view of the lake. I think it would be a lovely spot for your anniversary!

We were there several years ago. I bought the least expensive room, and they surprisingly upgraded us to a room with a walk out patio view of the lake. Boat & bike rentals were next door. We rented both during our stay. The walk along the lake promenade into the center was maybe 5 minutes. We liked walking the central streets, but loved escaping back to the serene feel of the hotel.
