Recommendation for rep at Elizabeth Holmes

I am traveling to France on the April 2022 tour! Hurrah! Can someone please recommend a sales representative that they have used for France or elsewhere so that I will feel comfortable using that person? Thanks. Joan

You have booked a trip with another travel group. Why are you asking for help on Rick Steves’ site?

Did you not like the person you dealt with in 2018?

jaletsinger, some more info would be helpful. For instance, if you've booked an RS tour for April 2022, what do you need a rep from a different company for? Specifically, what services do you need that are not provided with your tour or through the company? Who did you use through the E.H. travel agency before, and why?

Understand that most folks here don't use agencies, and reps the very few RS readers MIGHT have used at the agency named may also have gone by the wayside with the pandemic.

I live in a very small town and must contend with a number of difficult airline connections so I have always found an agent to be very helpful and worth their expense. It saves me aggravation and I remain in a much better mood and therefore look forward to having someone else handle the details.

Would Elizabeth Holmes find you the rep with the most experience, or some other criteria you specify? Hopefully they could be trustworthy in getting you to the best person for your situation. Maybe you’ll get a first-hand reference here, or from somewhere. Hope your trip goes well, and smoothly!

Sorry, but the only thing I could think of about Elizabeth Holmes was the upcoming trial of the Theranos promoter. A little googling also turned up a travel agency in South Seattle, which is what I guess you are referring to.

Thank you for replies. I was surprised that some did not know that Rick Steves recommends the Elizabeth Holmes agency for travel needs. I did use them in 2018 but that agent is no longer at the firm and I was hoping that someone might have had a good personal experience with an agent that I could call. If I hear nothing, I will just call them and hope for the best.

Never heard of the agency. 🙂

But I totally understand your situation and why you want to use them. Many of us find joy in doing all the planning by ourselves. For me, the air transportation planning is fairly easy because I have a well-connected regional airport about 15 minutes from my home (plus Charlotte about an hour away and Atlanta a little over 2 hours away).

We worked with Sarah Scott at Elizabeth Holmes back in 2010 to set up a car rental and in 2013 for slightly complicated airline tickets. We were happy with her work. She is still listed as a rep with Elizabeth Holmes on their website.

Thank you so much, Brad, for your recommendation. I will certainly give Sarah a call. I have to drive to a small midwestern city which has one airline with one plane a day to a hub. Then when airlines change their schedules, it just becomes maddening. I know some people like making their own travel arrangements which is fine when you have great access but that is just not the case for many of us. I am not that many years away from dialup internet and it is still not high speed. I love where I live but it is not the best when trying to travel internationally. I sincerely appreciate your help.
