Hi does anyone have a recommendation for an affordable place to stay, ideally with private parking, in Caen in June 2024? I want to experience the big Sunday market at the port de plaisance. Merci!

You may be out of luck with staying in Caen in the first 10 days of June on account of D-Day activities.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Le Moderne when we stayed in Caen. We took the train from Paris, so I don’t have info about their parking.

I stayed at a BnB of a private residence in Authie (next to Caen). I got the recommendation when I visited the TI in Caen. The host was very pleasant and had fantastic breakfasts. Private parking onsite. Very close to the Normandy towns. Affordable. I can find the contact information, if you want.

OP you should search for yourself among AirBNB, booking.com and so on. It’s a peak season both for D-Day and escaping from the city for the French. Find something then get feedback from the regulars here on the forum.

Thx all, we'd only be in Caen for one night stay over on our way to Giverny (we're already booked in Arromanches for Dday sites). Would love to know name of airbnb mentioned below, thx much!
