Recommendation for Paris hotel with larger than normal rooms

Going to Paris in October for 7 nights. Looking for any hotel recommendations where the rooms might be slightly larger than the typical very small Paris hotel rooms. Budget is up to $1,500 for the week.

I've stayed in the typically small Paris hotel rooms before, but those stays were of 3 or 4 nights. Since I'll be spending a week, I'm looking for a little more space to "live" in. It's very hard to tell from photos on booking/web sites how large a room might be (unless the square footage is provided which is rare).

Any input would be appreciated.

We stayed at the Hotel Relais Bosquet (classic room) and found the room to be a good size. This is ,of course, going to be a fairly subjective topic since only you know what size feels bigger to you. Great location and if you "like" them on Facebook the rate includes breakfast.

I agree with Swan in that if you're planning to stay a full 7 days a more cost-effective alternative would be an apartment. Both VRBO.com and its parent site Homeaway.com are good places to search. Can filter the search according to location, price, dates, etc. We've had good luck with both sites, although I'm sure there are others.

It would be nice to know
1) are you travelling alone, how many persons are on this budget and does it also include meals, taxis metros?

2) what is your size of room? 20m2, 40m2, try to figure out and simply search.

Some years ago we stayed at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles in the Latin Quarter for 12 nights, in what we considered a pretty good-sized room with queen bed, a couple of chairs and a small table, plus a closet and good-sized bath, overlooking a garden. I don't know the square footage. No TV, which was fine with us. It would be well within your budget if your figure is just for lodging. The hotel breakfast was extra, I think we got a better value at a café just up the street.

There should be many other options in your price range, but "slightly larger than the typical very small" is of course subjective. You may not know for sure till you get there. Like the other posters, I'd suggest you consider an apartment. That has worked well for us on subsequent Paris visits.

I have considered an apartment, but since I'm traveling solo this trip, I thought the conveniences of a hotel would be better, since my boyfriend is not making this trip with me and so I have no one to split the shopping, cooking and cleanup chores with that an apartment would need. Ideally I could find something with a queen bed and a little sitting area, just like a small table with a chair or two. That would be ideal. Probably something of about 140-160 sq ft would fit the bill.

Thanks everyone for the hotel suggestions. I will certainly check them out.

I stayed in Hotel Le M in the Montparnasse area for a week on a Rick Steves Best of Paris tour. It had a queen bed as well as a desk and chair. No table. The bathroom was pretty big, having a full-size tub instead of a cubicle shower. They had a lovely buffet breakfast.

Carol, thank you for the recommendation of the Relais Bosquet. I checked it out, and I was able to get a room twice the size of others I was considering for just about the same $$. Thanks for the tip about reserving through their Facebook page -- the free breakfast is a great addition and definitely a money saver!
