I have been searching for a small group tour from Bordeaux city that goes to one or more of the First Growth Grand Cru Chateaux like Haut-Brion, LaTour, Lafite, Mouton Rothschild or Margaux and so far haven't found anything. Any recommendations along these lines would be greatly appreciated. The two of us will be there in mid May
I have been looking into Bordeaux wine tours for a while. We used this company for a small group tour in Alsace in 2015, and were very pleased with them. Our next trip to France won't include Bordeaux, but some day I plan on booking a couple of these tours.
hey w.raley
you can check bxwinex.com if that's what you're looking for.
bordovino.com has small group or private day tours.
hope something suits your fancy. enjoy]

Whoever you chose, try to book directly with the tour guide. That way your tour will be about 20% cheaper, and all your dealings will be directly with your guide.
That means you can communicate directly with your guide and plan the trip and visits you want rather than filtering it through an agency, and if there are any problems you can sort them out directly with the guide. Some of the agencies are really problematical when it comes to resolving problems. (both for the tourist and the guide, who usualy ends up as the meat in an unpleasant sandwich)
Thanks everyone, the advice is appreciated
Does anyone have any experience or advice with setting up an appointment directly with Chateau Haut-Brion which appears to be a taxi ride from central Bordeaux? Again appreciated
Hey Simon, thanks for the input on dealing directly with the guides but how do you get in touch with them? And do you have any you recommend? Appreciated
I don't know if she is still doing tours, but we once had a client who did a Bordeaux wine tour and raved about Caro Feely at www.frenchwineadventures.com
