Recommend hotels near Arch de Triomphe

We have two days to stay in Paris before a barge trip. Trip will begin from the Hotel Raphael. Will be meeting friends. Any suggestions for places to stay near the Arc de Triumphe?

I'm going to suggest that is probably a very lightly touristed area for hotels, I guess you'll be looking for something down and off the Champs.

We will be staying at both the Hotel Raphael (got a great price on their Eiffel duplex jr suite that I couldn’t resist) and the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, which is also not far from the Arc de Triumphe. Not sure what kind of ambiance you are looking for, and the Hyatt may not be it, but is an option.

We stayed at a Hilton with Etoile in its name, but I know its not a Hilton property anymore. You'll have to do the research. In general, I prefer a smaller hotel, but because we were there for 14 Juillet, we actually budgeted for a view of the Eiffel Tower, which is uncommon. This distant view was satisfactory for humans, but maybe not so much for Instagram or whatever, which we don't use.

We stayed at the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe for five nights on points about four years ago. It was pleasant. No complaints.

Are you looking for a hotel near the Arc de Triomphe in addition to the Hotel Raphael ? I am a bit confused.

If you are just looking for a place with easy access to Hotel Raphael, many places in Paris will do! Such as the 7th arrondissement near rue Cler (a quick bus ride or single-digit taxi fare away), or the area around the Palais Royal (direct metro).

I am pointing this out, because I do not particularly care for the Arc de Triomphe area, which is largely devoid of neighborhood life and really empties out at night (except on the Champs Elysées and towards Avenue des Ternes).

Going back to 2006 now, when my daughter was in Paris for her Jr Year Abroad, we stayed at a hotel near the L'Arc de Triomphe (and near her host family). Hotel de Deux Avenues was a short walk to the L'Arc and Etoille metro. It was/is on a market street, which was/is a real Parisian market. There are many restaurants, etc. on Wagram Street as well. I would stay there again, but it seems I've just been passing through Paris more recently. Personally, I liked this area better than Rue Cler as it was less touristy and more neighborhood only.

I don't know how you are arriving, but at the time there was an airport bus that dropped off at the circle around the L'Arc de Triomphe.

My hotel was two minutes from the one you stayed at. The market was still there, and the airport bus was still running.

Assuming you do not want to stay at the Hotel Raphael which is about 5-6 blocks from the Arc and are looking for another hotel near the Arc, how about the Hotel Balmoral or the Hotel Splendid Etoile. The suggestion of Hotel Balmoral is based on recommendation from a colleague who stayed there while I was staying at the Splendid Etoile.

This company doesn't exist any more -- and nobody else has come in to replace the service.
