I was planning to take the train from Paris to Caen on July 11th returning on July 13th . Is the rail strike still going on?

Just kidding, I haven't heard of any plans for new strikes but of course it's always a possibility around here! But at least in France with regard to rail strikes, you usually have advance notice, unless the strike is in reaction to some sudden event (such as a bus driver being made to feel unsafe, etc). Under normal circumstances, they have to file their plans with the government in advance, so you have a heads up.
