Rail travel - Paris to Barcelona (getting off along the way?)

Hola fellow travellers!

Just wondering if it is possible to do a 3 or 4 day trip from Paris to Barcelona with the ability to hop on/off to check out a few regional places?

Considering Loire Valley, but I am wondering if there's some other formidable places to see further south within easy reach from main train lines?

Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

The Provence and Occitaine regions are on the main train lines on the way to Barcelona.

Trains from Paris to Barcelona are TGV all reserved trains, you can't hop off without invalidating the rest of the ticket. You can, however, buy separate tickets to all the places you want to go on different days.

The fastest trains from Paris to Barcelona (6.5 hours by direct train) are routed down the East-of-center highway/railway corridor, not via the Loire Valley. Unless you plan other, specific stops further south from the Loire Valley, the fastest train connections from there to Barcelona will be back via Paris. Logical stops along the eastern route could include Lyon, Nimes, or Avignon.
