I will be in Paris in early May, I intend to spend two plus days in the Louvre and so would like to be in a hostel near there or else near a metro station convenient to there. This is a strictly educational trip so I am looking for a place where I can sleep the easiest, not meet people and party. Any recommendations appreciated.

Adveniat Paris (situated between 3 different Metro stations and about a 20 minute walk to the Louvre). Do note that they have hours during the daytime (11AM-4PM) where they want guests out of the room so they can clean (you are welcome to stay on the ground floor during this time if you are at the hostel during these hours).
Otherwise, look at reviews on Hostelworld.com to see what is available during the dates you are going to be in Paris and read reviews carefully to make sure you are not in a party hostel.
