question regarding return from France to USA, Covid testing

I understand I need a 72 hour covid test proof, with my vaccination card to leave Boston to mtravel CDG, France.
Do I need a 72 hour Covid test in France to return to USA from CDG to Boston?
Does Air France require certain test sites?
Thank you.

I would suggest looking at the Air France website under COVID regulations or rules and also pulling up the US Dept of State webpage for rules for International travelers.

My own research experience for a trip to Costa Rica in August has been that yes, indeed, international travelers need a negative COVID test within 72 hours of your travel back to the US. Things may change before your travel so I would monitor the websites routinely..

I don't know about the French rules, or whether they'll change before your trip, whenever it is. I know that as of now the US requires a negative COVID test, even if you're vaccinated, taken within three days (not 72 hours) before departure of your flight home. So if your CDG-BOS flight is Wednesday afternoon, for example, your test specimen would have to be given no earlier than Sunday morning. An antigen test is OK, faster and cheaper than PCR or others.

Dick is correct about the timing. Within 3 days (not 72 hours)

Here are the instructions for what France requires for you to enter France. (The U.S is considered a GREEN country in France’s categorization, so look at instructions for that category).

There are different requirements based on whether you are vaccinated or not.

If you are vaccinated, you do NOT need a negative test to enter France. Just proof of vaccination and a copy of the sworn statement that you don’t have symptoms and haven’t been around any Covid-positive individuals for the last 14 days.

(In English, the official French government instructions from the Interior Ministry website):

As others have mentioned, yes, to return to the states, you have to have a negative Covid test taken at the most three days before your return to France. You will find lots of threads in the France forum about how to get a test, how much it costs, etc.

We flew from Atlanta to CDG airport and needed only passport and CDC card. In France you need a pass sanitaire. We have been in France for 10 days. 90% of places require Pass Sanitaire to get in , restaurants, bars, museums, even our hotel.

Unless this just changed, the US is an Amber country for entering France, not green.

currently, non vaccinated tourists into France don't exist - you need a compelling reason to enter and you must quarantine.

a passe sanitaire is not required, a CDC card would work, but the process has changed, you have to go to specific pharmacies to get the CDC card converted and pay up to 36E.

Check the date folks.

Someone revived a four-month old thread from July instead of starting a new one, so some info and posts are outdated.
