Leaving for France in 10 days. Everything is booked. Wondering if I should book a hotel in case we’re Covid positive on the way back to usa. . If so how does one navigate this? Can I leave a hotel to retest? Or do I have to stay in quarantine for days? Any hotel work well for you? My hotel is sold out as is most of Paris due to the French Open. Any information is helpful. Thank you!!
If you test positive, you isolate. You will have to find accommodations. A person I know who tested positive stayed in a hotel near the Aeroville Mall, which is near CDG. He went out masked to take care of essential needs. Another person I know extended his stay in an apartment after he got his test. He went out for short walks (masked) a couple of times when the streets were not busy. He had groceries and meals delivered and left outside his door.
Only book what you can cancel, but you should be able to book a hotel on short notice somewhere in Paris or around CDG. If you are observing isolation, the only important thing about location is proximity to food services for delivery.
The problem with pre-booking is that you don't know how long you need since the count depends on when you test positive and the length of isolation depends on whether or not you test negative again since some people can test positive after a lengthy period of time.
Our plan was to book a major international chain if we needed a room since they would likely have food service and be easy to get to.
I booked a hotel I could cancel in Paris center. If I were to isolate, I still want a nice view and proximity to food.
