Purchasing "Skip The Line" tickets for Oct trip to Paris

We will be spending 3 days in Paris during the middle of October. Should we expect the same crowds/wait lines that one usually encounters during the spring/summer periods? We will definitely be visiting the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and a nighttime cruise on the seine. Wondering if we need to purchase Skip the Line tickets before we leave on our trip?

There is no such thing as a 'skip the line' ticket; there are tickets. If you have a ticket in hand, you can use a designated security line at museums like the Orsay (very important to have), the Louvre (less important as the designated ticketed/pass line is often longer than just using a different entrance than the Pyramid -- in May we literally walked into the Louvre lobby with no line at security at the Carrousel entrance -- other days it may be backed up to the parking garage), the Orangerie etc. The Museum Pass accomplishes the same thing.

For the Eiffel tower I would get tickets ahead but the risk is weather. We had tickets for October 5 2015 and it was the only day that month that it poured. There were no lines and only others like us who had pre-bought tickets were there.

So if you are just there for 3 days, I would get the museum pass and not worry about it. October is still a popular time and while crowds are smaller than July since you only have 3 days you don't have the luxury of just walking by and coming back another day I'd also risk getting Eiffel Tower tickets.

Great advice given by Janet.

I'd also suggest booking your Eiffel Tower tickets (up to 92 days in advance) to avoid standing in a possibly long queue.
The Paris Museum Pass is a great deal especially if you plan to visit many of the museums & monuments which it covers.

Have a wonderful trip!

Like the previous posters have said, I would for sure buy ahead for the Eiffel Tower. I would play the cruise by ear and just buy the day you want to go.
The other ticket I would buy ahead if it was of any interest id for the catacombs.

Enjoy your vacation!
