Public transportation in Paris with a dog

Has anybody had any experience with this? We’re looking at taxi rides from and to the airports and to car rental offices.

Also, has anybody had direct experience taking a dog on the Metro.

I do not have direct experience but I do know people who live in Paris and have a dog. The rules depend on the dog’s size. Read https://www.thelocal.fr/20170407/paris-allows-big-dogs-to-take-metro-as-long-as-they-have-a-ticket for the current rules. Also, FYI, taxis are not obliged to take non-service animals. Here is a thread started by a person who traveled to Paris with a dog. You may want to try PMing him in case he does not see this thread. https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/france/landing-in-paris-me-my-dog-and-my-friend-uber

Fewer and fewer dogs noticed on metro. The couple I've seen were in carrier bags and held on the lap.
