I am in Paris now and have to travel to terminal 2 at CDG tomorrow morning. Any suggestions of possible public transportation or something less expensive than a taxi? The RER C stations in central Paris are all closed for maintenance until the 28th. Thanks.
It's the RER line B which serves CDG, the line C is for Orly. You can get Metro Line 9 from Alma-Marceau to Franklin D Roosevelt, then Line 1 to Chatelet to pick up the RER. Other options are the non-stop Roissybus from the Opera, or the Le Bus Direct services.

Google Maps will also show you the route by car.
And the Pont d'Alma RER C station has been closed for the better part of a year.
Though it requires 2 changes and a bit of walking, I always started at the Ecole Militaire Metro station. Takes about an hour in total.
Thank you for the feedback. We took an Uber to the RER B station at Luxemburg gardens, Port Royal. There we were able to go down to the station and platform by elevator. We had Navigo cards so this saved us a lot of money and was very easy. The toughest part was arriving at the airport and walking to the check-in area which was far but luggage carts were available so overall it worked out perfectly and only cost 8 euros for the Uber and no cost for the train with Navigo. Overall savings 47 euros. We picked up our rental car at CDG (and dropped off our daughter who was flying back home). Drove to Amboise and all was perfectly smooth.
