Provence wedding

We will be attending a wedding in Provence in June. we are starting outing Paris Provence. Our travel times 11 days. We would like to see Paris first, stop on the way to Provence. then back to Paris for 3 days before departing. looking for suggestions. we are thinking 3 days in Paris, then stop along the way 3 days, Provence for the wedding 3 days, back to Paris 3 days. the end of the trip does not need to be in Paris but we fly out of Paris. we are not renting a car and will depend on train transportation. thanks I advance!! first time to France

You can either rent a car and make a road trip as there are many regions between Paris and Provence region or just take an express train down e.g. to Avignon. Provence is massive and beautiful and has many sub regions and areas. I love the Camargue for its white horse and flamingoes and cowboy culture (bull jumping, not bull fighting). The 'real' Provence is the back country away from the coast (Cote d'Azur) so places like Luberon are fun to explore. Smaller towns in my view are more fun but depends what you like, Arles has a nice Roman arena!

the wedding venue is Chateau Fonscolombe. Aix-en-Provence
we will take the train from Paris to the nearest station then have transportation to the chateau.
Aix-en-Provence TGV railway station.

You should get a guidebook, at least one from the library, to see if there is a place you'd like to visit. There are so many places, and people need more information about your interests and likes. What are you looking for?

For Aix en Provence I highly recommend a guide.

Ted is a French-American raised in France.

We had several tours with him last summer with differ people. We du market tour, treasure hunt and the pétanque lessons. All were great experience. Very reasonable price.

He is a great guide. Kind, patient, enthusiastic.

When one in our group had a small medical issue one day he went out of his way to phone doctors and get us a referral and directions exactly where to go and what to do. And he followed up a few days later to make sure she was ok.

Enjoy the planning!

Definitely get the Rick Steve's France guidebook. We just got back from France, spent 3 weeks traveling there and his guidebook was fantastic.
