we are flying in and out of Nice and would like to make a loop around Provence. We will be renting car. Looking for suggestions for where to stay and visit over 5 nights. thanks

The immediate area around Nice can easily keep you busy for the 4 full days you have. The coast east of Nice towards Menton is stunning, Nice itself has a lot to offer with its old town and some excellent museums, and west of Nice places like Antibes and St Paul de Vence are very interesting too. A car is not necessary for this, you could just stay in Nice the whole time, or split your time between Menton (with a car) and Nice (without), for example.
If you also want to include areas further west, such as Aix en Provence, Arles, Avignon, it becomes challenging, but not impossible.
So, let us know what you'd like and we can think of something.
