Hi y'all - I'm hoping to avoid renting a car in my Provencal adventures this summer. I'd love to tack a trip to Abbaye de Silvacane onto a lunch at Hôtel Auberge La Fenière. I'm planning on walking to Hotel Auberge from Lourmarin - is Lourmarin big enough that I could get a taxi to the abbey? I can get back to Aix easily but can't figure out how to get the 15-min drive between the abbey and the Hotel. I'd prefer to go to the abbey in the morning before my delicious lunch, but I'm assuming it would be impossible to get a cab or a call a car share there... May just make a game-time decision but figured I would ask in case anyone has suggestions. Thanks for any assistance.
Hi Steph!
Even walking from Lourmarin to the Auberge de la Fenière is tricky: there is no berth/sidewalk on the D943 and it is a busy road (the main road from Aix to Apt). Check on Street View for yourself.
All cabs will require prior arrangements.
So if you want to combine Lourmarin and Silvacane, I'm afraid you'll have to rent a car for the day...
Thank you @balso! I can't believe I didn't think of the busy-ness of the roads, thank you for the warning and advice on checking out the roads on Google Earth.
