Looking for recommendations for a rental house in the St-Remy /Aries area to use as a home base for day trips in region.

Try gites-de-france to find lodging. We have used them for years, for short and longer stays, and have always been very satisfied. They predate AirBandB and know how to do it right. Lots of lodging types for various lengths of time.

My wife and I just returned from a one-month stay at an AirBnB apartment in Vaison-la-Romaine, and it was wonderful. Charming small town with a medieval upper village, easy access and lots of free parking, good restaurants (within a 5-10 min walk of anywhere near the town center), and a fabulous big market every Tuesday. Many Provençal towns and sights of interest within a 1 to 1.5 hour drive. Check VRBO and AirBnB to find a place that suits your needs and budget.
