Promo code for Paris hotel

Are there promo codes for hotels recommended by Rick Steves? In Paris.

There are some listed in his books. That said, for every one of his hotels I have found it cheaper to book without his codes.

Do you have any tips for finding a lower rate? (Recognizing that the currency exchange rate at the time may have a bigger impact )

There's hardly any difference in the exchange rates right now between the euro and the dollar !

True, but that could change by September. That’s a risk we take by booking now, paying later.

I have noticed that most of the hotels Rick recommends offer specials on their websites. That's where I have found the best deals. For example a couple of his Rue Cler hotels have a better rate if you stay 3 or more nights....

If you are booking large, corporate hotels, you may find large price variances depending upon what discounts or promo codes you may have available. There are credit card discounts, senior discounts, AAA discounts, or a host of others.

If you are booking small, boutique hotels, the best prices, particularly in France, are found by either booking on the hotel’s own website or calling them directly. The dollar is historically very strong right now, prices are relatively reasonable.

I have found that there can be a difference in price on Booking.com, or the price will include breakfast, where as on the hotel website it won't. You can also use Trivago, or expedia to compare different hotel prices or discover hotels.

The problem with using third party sites is, when there's a problem (and there often is), they blame the hotel and the hotel blames them. And no one tries to help you.

Most hotels now claim on their websites they will meet any other posted rate, so call them on that. Search for rates and request them. As noted, you can always try to get a deal using senior or AAA or some such, but realistically how much are you saving?
