Problems with QR pass application

I tried to fill in the application needed to get the pass sanitaire registration and it works fine except for the email line, which seems broken. I was not able to enter my email. All the other lines seem to work.

Does anyone have another link for the application or success in dealing with this. The second line will take input, but it doesn't show more than three characters.

You have to type it in on the second dotted line .It comes out small. I had the same problem. In the name of all that is blessed and holy , I was able to get all items sent...

Janet--they want people already in France or arriving by August 15th right now. It's too early for you to apply.

And yet people are reporting success -- but in any case I want the ducks in row to get it sent off as soon as possible

Now if the irresponsible plague rats in the US and France don't spoil it for us all by refusing vaccine and letting this thing go on and on.

The website ALSO states: "Initially, this system is only open to non-EU tourists who are already in France or who will arrive on or before 15 August. Requests concerning subsequent arrivals at will be processed at a later date."

So you can submit, will just be processed later.

Mine came out so small it wasn't readable so I printed the form and hand wrote it in - I would think it is better to have it legible than not - plus I wanted to be sure they could see where to send the code back to!

Possibly a silly question: On the form, "Address (in country of residence abroad)", I this my home address or where I plan on staying in France?

Thanks.

Address in Country of Residence Abroad means your home address. Remember, this is a French document. To them, France is not "abroad."

I have a question. My sister and I leave Saturday and are arriving Sunday. Yesterday around 1:00 I sent in my completed documents. My sister sent hers about an hour and a half later. She received hers this morning by 9:00 and at noon I still don't have mine. I know they ask you not to resend but if they sent it back to an incorrect email - how would I even know. Do you think its legitimate to follow up today? Or do you think that would cause additional problems?

I'd like to get this back so that I can print it before we go.

did it wind up in your spam folder by any chance?

I very definitely think they are typing things in. My sister put her personal email on the form and sent it from that. She added her work email as a cc and it came back only to her work email. I still haven’t received mine. Does anyone know if they will still take cdc cards. There are lots of folks that have posted they are being accepted or were.

Once you upload the information by email that is needed, do you get a confirmation that they got the documents and if so how long does it take or do you just get the QR code?
Thanks for the help.

I submitted all documentation for France’s Health Pass for my husband and myself yesterday. We filled out and signed the applications manually as I accessed it from my IPad – on my IPad the form was not editable. I am now reading that the application was created as editable and allowed for an electronic signature. I have opened the application on a non-Apple computer and now see it as editable but still do not see an electronic signature option. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and submitted a picture of your signed application, rather than the application as an electronic form. We did receive a reply that the email had been received and would be reviewed soon and asked us not to send it again. I know I should give it time but dont want to wait too long. Assuming we still make this trip, we are set to leave on August 30. Thanks for any help.

Cheryl,
Did printing it out work for you - meaning did you get your QR yet? That’s what I did also but not sure they’ll take it or it may take them longer to reply to. Thanks.

I completed and submitted my application Wednesday, August 11th. I received an email confirmation. Still waiting on the QR. Fingers crossed.

Debbie, Am relieved to hear we are not the only ones waiting. We too submitted ours Wednesday afternoon the 11th, and have yet to receive QR codes, and now it’s holiday long weekend.

We landed in Paris 4th August so would have hoped that early date would help. At that time only one place (St Chappelle) asked and CDC card was adequate. We’ve been in Amsterdam for a week and are returning by Thalys to Paris Sunday the 15th so will see if the new rules are enforced more and CDC cards no longer accepted.

It's not a holiday long weekend here. When French holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday (as Assumption does tomorrow), they don't move the holiday to Friday or Monday like we do in the States. The holiday is just “lost.”

Was anyone able to sign the application electronically? Or did you print and sign and then scan in?
Thank you!

I could not make the print line open for a signature. I ended up filling out a hard copy and taking a picture of it.

I emailed all my stuff in and got one confirmation email for two of us (we both submitted from the same email address, but each submission was a separate email).

I have not received my QR code yet.

Valerie - I did exactly the same thing as you did earlier today. I sent 2 separate emails with the application materials for myself and my wife, but I sent both emails from the same address. I received only 1 acknowledgement back, so I'm hoping that everything is submitted OK. We're not arriving until 8/29, so there is still a bit of time, but I still hope we'll get our official QR code documents back soon.

Bill B: On Aug 9 I submitted two applications the same way as you have described (sent 2 separate emails with the application materials for myself and my wife, but I sent both emails from the same address), and (like you) received only one acknowledgement of receipt. However, all ended well: we received both of our passe sanitaire the following day; thus clearly both applications were received and processed.

lib.luther: I printed out two application forms, we filled them in by hand, and then scanned them into pdf format. Our applications were accepted and we received our two passe sanitaire.

We don't depart until September 5th so I am waiting a few days to submit my and my husband's applications per the French Embassy's direction about August 15th.

We applied last Wed 8/11 and still have not received our QR codes. We are in Paris now and have not had any issues not having the QR codes. We've been asked a few times to show our CDC cards at restaurants and Versailles (seemed to be looking specifically at vax dates). Interestingly, we were not asked to show any proof of vaccination/negative Covid test when we checked into our hotel nor when we arrived at CDG/went through customs, although our CDC card was in our passport so maybe French customs looked at our cards when looking at our passports - they didn't seem to look all that carefully though.

Jeff B Thanks so much for sharing your experience! It's really comforting to know you received your QR codes just fine by following that process.

Jane, I could not agree with you more. Always better to have everything in place ASAP. I like your term "plague rats" I've been referring to Covid as the plague but now have a good term for some of my countrymen.

Hi Janet - you should be fine. JPG is one of the formats they mention in the instructions:

Send these documents (in .pdf, .jpg or .png format) by e-mail only to the relevant address based on your place of residence.

Hi Aimee, I submitted mine last Tues and received the electronic acknowledgment, but nothing since then. My sister and her husband submitted theirs over the weekend. Both received the acknowledgments right away but nothing else. So, we wait. 😊 We have a couple of weeks yet, so not worried.

Also submitted last Tuesday, with one acknowledgment for two applications from the same email address. No further response yet.

I wound up printing and filling out by hand because of the issue with the tiny email print (the most important part of the form!!!) and the demand for a signature. I then scanned it as a PDF and attached it to the email. Sent it today... hope its gets back to me before I have to decide whether to cancel everything esp the hotels before the free cancellation deadline.

I am NOT going on this trip if I do not have the Pass Sanitaire in hand, given what I am understanding from the situation in France. Lots of americans being turned away from restaurants etc. if they only have the CDC card and draconian enforcement measures that started this week.

If you can't enjoy restauranats and brasseries, there is no point going to France at all....

Interesting as we are in Paris now & have not had any issues with just our CDC card. We applied for the QR codes last week, received an email confirmation that all our documentation had been received but still no QR code. We’ve been to several restaurants, Versailles, Arc de Triomphe & Sainte Chapelle so far and thankfully our CDC card has been all we’ve needed. Not sure if this might change before we leave but keeping fingers crossed we’ll be okay until we leave or we get our QR code soon.

We applied last week as well. Confirmation received, but nothing else. So if it's not received in time, we'll just rely on theCDC card and our best ignorant traveler expression if there's a problem. I'm mostly worried about SNCF, as we are using it for several voyages.

The pass sanitaire QR team may just be overloaded .... or there may have been something wrong with our submissions (the instructions say if the request isn't correct it will not be processed -- but that doesn't indicate if they will let you know if there was an error or not).

Good to know Joe, thanks for the "bottes sur terre ferme" reporting.

I was hearing from friends in Lyon that the gendarmes are really cracking down and businesses are scared to death of the fine, so if there is no QR code it is no good, staring last week. It is possible Parisians have been seeing a lot of CDC cards and have gotten used to them by now. Who knows...

If you don't receive your QR code for your health pass prior to arriving in the EU. We were able to find a pharmacist on August 11, the day we arrived in France who was willing to figure out the process to issue a Health Pass QR code for us as "foreigners". It was the second pharmacy we tried. You need to find one that is willing and able. And of course using your best French and being patient and polite always helps as we all know. They were very busy so we left copies of our CDC card with them and returned 4 hours later. They had successfully produced the paperwork with the QR codes for us. We scanned the QR code into the app and have been enjoying dining in France. It has been requested at every restaurant we where we have dined.
Information is changing daily so there is some confusion however the information at this website improves daily. https://fr.usembassy.gov/how-to-get-a-french-health-pass/ Hope this is helpful.

I am at a loss as to why someone wouldn't just take a 29 Euroe antigen test after arrival to get the 3 day pass that way if they haven't gotten theirs yet - and instead of that, just cancelling an entire trip. I'm going in October, as long as the country is open, I applied for my passe last week and even if I haven't gotten it, I'll spend the money on multiple tests if needed.

Just want to add another data point, since this forum has been very useful to read over the past few weeks:

Departing for France: 27 August
Application submitted: 10 August. Applied for two individuals in separate email messages but from the same email account, and received one confirmation of receipt. We filled out the application entirely digitally, to include entering our email addresses in the condensed field (barely legible, but figured the information was there) and a digital signature.
Passes received: 18 August. Both passes came back to the same email account we used to submit, even though we indicated two different email addresses in the application. And for some reason they sent our passes twice each, with different subject lines (Your Covid Pass; Votre passe sanitaire; Passe sanitaire NAME) though the PDFs themselves were the same.

Good luck everyone!

Me and my Son dont leave until October 25th. Should we wait a few more weeks to apply? Maybe the applications will slow down as the tourist season tapers off. Also, should we both apply in the same email? Or in separate emails?

It would cost us around $1000 Euro to use COVID tests every 3 days to have valid passes for our upcoming trip. I waited till after August 15 as requested and regret it since those who got the aps in early seem to be receiving them quickly. But I have plenty of time so not panicking.

Found answers here -- thank you!

With regards to taking Covid tests, I don't mind it if the test is the less invasive one (what's that called? Antigen or PCR?) But the test with the long tip waaaay up your nose is very uncomfortable for me. Can we find both types of tests in France? Here in LA, it seems all the tests are the easy ones nowadays.

You MUST apply in separate emails. Each one has your name in the subject heading.

I used different email accounts, but some people use the same account -- but separate emails.

We are one of those that submitted for a 8/20 trip, one received 8/18 the other is MIA. Both were filled out nearly identically. An uneven response.

what are they asking 'my travel ticket,
"" done at"".

what information are they looking for here? confused

Not sure exactly what is wanted for my return ticket since I don't have a real ticket. I have all of my information provided by Delta Airlines as to my trip, which day we arrive and which day we leave, etc. Will that do? Thanks for any help here. I am almost finished filling out my registration. Wouldn't want to screw this up.

Posted by

I didn't have a "real" ticket either - at least nothing that I could upload in an email. I ended up printing out my Delta receipt, took a picture of it and put a PDF of that picture into my email as an attachment.

One of us has received a QR code back so far, having used that method.

For the airline ticket, I produced PDFs directly from the airlines website using my confirmation code. Within it was all the itinerary info and the eticket number.

Still waiting to hear on 2 applications submitted 16 Aug for 11 Sep arrival. Hopefully next week.

I'm a bit nervous that I did not fill out the application correctly. On another Travel Board, the consensus about "Address (in country of residence abroad)" is that they want your address in France, not your home address.

Can anyone here verify?

Posted by

Put your address in the USA where you live. It is a French document, written from the point of view of a French person trying to help create a QR code for a foreign tourist who wants to come to France.

"Abroad" here means out of France.

Nancy , I wrote the time that I filled out the form. Not date , time. I received a QR code.

The standard for French documents is the city where you signed it (after the "a"), and the date (after the "le" in the dd month yyyy format). I've done this on many legal documents, from insurance docs to real estate contracts. There seems to be some leeway with this submission process.

Note I received my code, finally, this morning, after resubmission.

@Gooster, how long did you wait to resubmit? Did you receive the automatic email saying both had been received?

Asking because I submitted on Friday with no automatic email response. I don't want to overwhelm them by adding to the workload and I'm not traveling until 3rd week of Sept.

We still have not received either of ours. Our arrival date is 8/29 and we submitted on 8/15. We just resubmitted yesterday, but at this point we are not counting on receiving our codes prior to arrival (it's already after 5PM on a Friday in France).
