Private transfer Epernay to CDG

We are a group of 9 adults looking for private transportation from our hotel in Epernay to CDG. Our searches came up with some larger companies that don’t get good reviews and some private ones that do get good reviews but expensive. Does anyone have any personal experiences from Epernay to CDG? We’d prefer not to take the train back to Gare de l’est and then get a taxi to CDG. We would like a direct transfer to CDG to end our vacation with a little less stress.

I have no suggestion other than to ask if you asked the hotel. Also, are you planning to all travel one vehicle?

Yes, I would just go with a recommended company that the hotel is able to hook you up with. And just know that it is going to be expensive. You are paying for convenience.

jsgrimm,
Since it will take a large van or minibus for 9 people and their luggage, and will probably be an empty vehicle returning to Epernay, I would, perhaps, think of the per person cost. It is about 130 kilometers and the driver is returning to Epernay empty. You are essentially paying for his profitless 130 km return trip. The trip will take about 1 1/2 hours, so a minimum 3 hour job for the driver. Per person cost may make it seem less expensive. I often use this perspective as a way to adapt to such situations.

I hope this helps.
Happy travels!

I have no better suggestions than those already given

Sound like you are running into the 'you get what you pay for' situation

Depending on the time of day the trip could take 2 hours, or more. Be sure you give yourself a generous time cushion. Ideally the transfer company will ask what time your flight is and tell you when they will pick you up to assure a timely arrival at CDG.

Thank you for all the quick responses!! I appreciate them all! I will contact the hotel for suggestions. I think we have to decide cheap and unreliable or expensive and reliable. If it was just my husband and I it would be easier. haha Nine people we have to deal with the different personalities, physical abilities, travel styles, etc. But I’m sure we will all want to end this 10 day trip on a good note. ; ) Thanks again!

The cost of missing your flight may be much worse than the cost of transportation to the airport. I think it's important to use the hotel to book your van. They can bypass any language issues you might have contacting the company yourself. Plus, if you use them they can help troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
