Private Tour Notre Dame July 2025

Good morning!

Sorry for yet another post on Notre Dame, but we are planning a day in Paris in July 2025 and would like to have a definite slot for a tour as opposed to trying to get one two days out for the online reservation system. Any thoughts on a reputable, not too expensive, private tour in English?

Thank you!

Hi - these don't exist yet, as there is no way yet for organizers to obtain group tickets.

Honestly, I would look at that Reddit thread and figure out how to contact the woman who posted it. She is a tour guide for Notre Dame and clearly has her act together. She took great care to distill that information when she can't derive any benefit from it, so I can only imagine that she would be very good if you paid to reserve her time and expertise !

Great idea, I looked at that Reddit post and will reach out to her. I did see a couple tour operators booking ND tour for next summer, but not sure how they can guarantee entry unless there will be a special arrangement with licensed tour operators?

they can't.

they promise you that they will, then they hope that they can, and if they can't they cancel, often on very short notice (not specifically for ND but at attractions all over), leaving you high and dry.

Hi Marie! I'm Emily and I came across this forum and I wanted to introduce myself because I'm the author of the Reddit post that Kim mentioned in her comment. I'm glad to hear that it's been helpful!

Marie, you might want to send a private message to Emily about your needs and see if she can help.

Emily, your info roundup was amazing . I'll be in Paris in late May for maybe the 30th time (lost count) and I'll have a cousin with me for her first-time visit. We'll follow your advice for getting inside (plus we have a ticket for a Tuesday Musique Sacree concert). If there are still no inside tours by then, can you give tours outside the building?

Hi! You're welcome, I'm glad it was helpful!

Well, you know what they say... "Paris is always a good idea!". That's awesome that you've visited Paris so much times, and that you get to be here for your cousin's first visit.

I attended the Magnificat concert as part of the reopening celebrations and it was lovely! Notre Dame closes to visitors at 7:00pm on Tuesdays, they clear everyone out, then allow concert attendees to enter for the concert around 8:00pm. The concert starts at 8:30pm. An FYI, the concert doesn't have numbered seating, so if you want a seat with a good view of the stage, you'll need to be in queue before 7:00pm. You don't necessarily have to arrive as early as I did (I was particularly...determined), but just for reference, I was first in line approximately 4/4.5 hours in advance and the people who were second in line arrived about 10 minutes after me.

Attendees can choose whichever seat they'd like, on a first come first serve basis, within their Tier/section. I posted a photo of the seating plan on my Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ParisTravelGuide/comments/1fpk7bp/comment/m9kd7tr/ The stage is the grey box. The section at the front is for Tier 1 ticket holders (the yellow box), and sections around it is for Tier 2 ticket holders (the blue boxes).

Yes, tour guides/tour groups can still give tours of the exterior. Tours inside are allowed starting on June 9th.
