I’m interested in doing some walking tours in Paris next spring with a private guide. I’ve been to Paris several times before so would be eager to see less well-known areas and/or different historic streets and buildings. Thank you for your recommendations.
I've booked a private guide thru Paris Walks. Several years ago two friends and I were interested in doing a walk they have occasionally on the Knights Templar so we set it up thru Oriel at Paris Walks and had Christopher who is the expert in this area take us. It was expensive but worth it.
Look into Paris Greeters. I connected with them several years ago. As I recall, they are volunteers. You are matched with someone based on your interests. You get notice of your match closer to the date you choose to meet someone. In my case, I rode the metro to meet the greeter at our designated meeting spot. We strolled around the Parc Monceau area. Very informal. I think it's a great thing to do.
I thoroughly enjoyed our time with our Paris Greeter. Just be aware that you have little to no control over what you do and see. Our time was spent in Pantin and the 19th. I had a great time.
The intake form asks what you are interested in. Then a Greeter reaches out. Ours proposed “a day walking through my home city of Pantin”.
Unlike other city tours I’ve had, it was less about the sites and more about learning about the guides life.
