Private Louvre Tour Recommendations

The private guides recommended in Rick's book (from personal experience) charge about €200 for a half-day tour of the, which could include or focus on the Louvre. One of these is www.paris-asyoulikeit.com. Group tours cost less and www.contexttravel.com limits their group size to 6 people.

I would recommend Context as well. I have not done their Louvre tour but I had a wonderful time on their Culinary Traditions of Paris tour. There was a woman in my group who did the Louvre tour earlier in her trip and she said it was a phenomenal experience.

Thanks very much. The small group Louvre tour that Context offers seems to be exactly what we were looking for. I am considering their Baguette to Bistro walking tour as well.

We used Context for our overview tour of the Louvre a few years ago. Our guide, Katy, was one of the absolute best we have ever had on any tour. We hesitated as the tours are not cheap but afterwards all three of us agreed it was worth every penny and more. She answered any and all questions on every piece of art, scuplture, etc. that we asked and made the art "come alive" for us in a way the headset could not. We did not personally care for Louvre museum-provided guide we had on our first trip there. Happy Travels!
