Private Louvre tour for 6?

I'm having trouble locating a private tour of the Louvre that accommodates 6 people. My top two, Paris Muse and Context, allow up to 5. Is it even possible to find a private tour for 6 people? The group is myself, my husband, and our 4 children ages 16, 13, 9, and 5. We are not keen on splitting up.

We've used Paris Muse several times and recommend them very highly, but we've always been just a group of two. I wasn't aware they had size limitations. Since you're just over by one person, would they make an exception for you? Have you asked and been declined? Hope you're able to find a workable solution & Happy Travels!

I spoke with someone at Context travel and she informed me that the Louvre and the Orsay limit private tour groups to 5 people (presumably because the sixth person is the tour guide). Major bummer for my family of 6. Sounds like no tour operator would be permitted to accept 6 people as a group.

Our guided tours usually have had to split our groups into two parts at the Louvre - a dozen people going with each guide that we hire, but I understand that it's becoming harder to secure reservations for this size of group, and smaller groups may be another category with different rules.

I was at the Louvre less than a month ago with a tour group and there was exactly 6 of us plus the tour guide. Making 7 total. The Louvre didn't have a problem with it, they let us through fine. We went through Monograms for our trip. Maybe you can reach out to them and inquire about booking just a Louvre tour through them?

I will check out Monograms, thank you. I also spoke with Olivier from I Louvre Paris (based on a recommendation here) and he was very helpful and did not seem to think that our group size would be too large. The person from Context travel actually went so far as to say that we could be kicked out if we were stopped by the security guards in the Louvre for having more than 6 in our group, so that alarmed me. It's good to hear that others have gone in groups larger than 6 and not had a problem.

Too bad your kids' ages are spread out a bit -- if two were closer in age/size and the same gender, you could try to pass them off as conjoined twins :-)

Hope you're able to make a tour work - bon chance!

I want to second Bets recommendation of Iris.. we had her ( when I took my 11 yr old daughter ) for a Louvre tour.. wonderful .. she has a way to make children interested in what they are seeing.. not boring or dry. She used to work for Paris Walks.. but see Bets has included an email.

I tried the email for Iris Amice and it came back undeliverable. Do you have a different address? Or know the name of her company or if she has a website? Thank you!
