Have private owner/guide and staying at their B&B for 4 nights in Normandy with pickup and drop off in Paris. If cost is $1500/day for 2 do you still tip, and if so, how much?
Simple
Don't
You are already paying them $1500/day, a humongous amount. That is the price you have agreed to pay, end of issue.
,
$1500 per DAY?? Uh, no. I think you could assume tips would be unnecessary.
One does not tip owners. At $1500 a day for two, which I assumes includes lodging, meals, and all activities, you are paying enough. Tipping is meant to compensate underpaid employees, or thank guides who work for free. Your hosts have apparently offered an all-inclusive experience and likely would be offended at the offer of a tip.

I'd be asking for some of my money back at that price not thinking about giving them more!!!
Why do you think tipping might be required and what for? These are people who own their own businesses and choose how much to charge people for their services. Evidently people are prepared to pay their prices so they're clearly doing very well. There is absolutely no requirement or expectation to tip although if you are American then there's a good chance that they'll be anticipating a tip, do not feel obliged or allow that uncomfortable nagging feeling about not leaving a tip take hold.
