Hi
Looking for recommendations for a private driver for 3 people to take us from Strasbourg to the villages around Colmar. Basically the Route de Vin. This will be in end of November at Christmas market time. We want to see some of the small towns and maybe incorporate a wine tasting as well.
We could also take the train to Colmar and get picked up there instead if that would save us $$

I'm gonna got out on a limb here and say that you may not get any input from anyone who has hired a private driver to drive them around Alsace because most folks would rent their own car. However, I'm perfectly willing to be proven wrong. If you rent your own car it's going to be much cheaper than hiring a private driver for the day. Use autoeurope.com for car rental info. If the convenience of a private driver is something you don't mind paying for and all you want is a driver and not a guide who gives commentary/history of the sites you'll visit then just google "private driver in alsace/strasbourg/colmar" and you'll find results.

Thanks for your reply. We have driven in that area before but we are from California and have never driven in the snow. If the weather is not inclement we might be inclined to rent a car. Hopefully that would not be an issue last minute?

I doubt snow will impact the roads that time of the year but you never know nowadays.

Snow in the Alsace plain in late November would be a fluke - especially the kind of snowfall that affects driving. If that's the only thing preventing you from renting a car, just make sure you rent a car with a cancellation option. 48-hour cancellation policies are good enough to know if there's snow in the forecast.
