We are going on the RS Loire to the South of France tour in October. It seems like there will be no direct trains from Gare Montparnasse to Chartres due to weekend construction and alternate routes will take 3-4 hours. I would appreciate recommendations on the best private car companies to use based on your experience. Merci!

According to the SNCF website:
Due to track work, service for the first and last trains of the day is suspended Monday through Saturday until October 3, 2026. Reservations are mandatory for the replacement buses.
Apart from the first and last trains of the day from Monday to Saturday, all other trains between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. are not affected by the track work, and the journey time remains approximately 1 hour as usual.

I saw a note re the possible train delays on my RS tour info. I am currently in the midst of planning and booking planes and hotels and thought I’d ask for private car alternatives. Thanks very much for this clarification, much appreciated!
