Prices going up for tickets to Eiffel Tower

Due to a complete overhaul of the Eiffel Tower - done in phases expected to last 15 years - ticket prices are going up.

From 1 November 2017:
Access to the summit by the elevator will be 25 EU (instead of 17 EU)
Access to the second level by elevator will be 16 EU (instead of 11 EU)
Access to the second level by the stairs will be 10 EU (instead of 7 EU).
(There are 1,665 steps to the summit of the Eiffel Tower.)

You can still apply online for e-tickets, if you can get them.

Jules Verne, Restaurant 58, the champagne bar at the summit will remain open.
All the other snack bars and boutiques will remain open on the 1st and 2nd levels.

Work begins on 5 October 2017 on the bulletproof wall which will enclose the Eiffel Tower, which will be finished on 13 July 2018.
The lines for entry will be modified by access on the side of the monument.

One elevator will have to be replaced, which will complicate things for those visiting in the summer months. The other two elevators will function.

I just bought tickets to the summit on September 19 for December 18 at 1730, two for 34 Euros. Tickets went on sale at 0830 Paris time or 0130 CDT in the US.

The announcement was posted yesterday in Le Parisien.
So I don't know if you will have to pay a supplement in addition to what you have already paid by e-ticket.

Progress is unstoppable. Prices of tickets (towers, castles, museums, etc.) always go up, never down.

It's important to realize that the Eiffel Tower has not really been renovated in a long time. It takes thousands of gallons of paint, special replacement light bulbs (diamonds), and other renovations.

The ticket increases are to offset the discounted sales, in any event, and are necessary.

Did you know that the elevators run on rendered pig fat?

bulletproof wall which will enclose the Eiffel Tower

How will you see the tower? Will it be unclimbable, too? Will this be like the wall from California to Texas?

No. The wall will be bullet-proof glass. You can see through it and take photos.
There will of course be an entrance.
You can follow the signs and climb the stairs to the summit, if you should choose to do so.
