pretty village/town near Toulouse airport?

Looking for a night-before-the-airport town, someplace likable where we can walk to dinner & then walk dinner off! Will have car.
Thanks for any ideas!

You might want to take a look at L'Isle-Jourdain. Many years ago, after spending 2 weeks in very rural France, we were flying out of Toulouse Airport, and planned to spend the last night In Toulouse. However, we decided we couldn't bear to finish the trip in a city, so we drove around and found L'Isle-Jourdain and stayed there. As I recall, there was only one place to stay and one place for dinner (the same place), maybe due to it being Sunday night. It was right on the little lake on the edge of the town. In any event, the hotel and the dinner were very good. I don't know if it's still there, although there does seem to be a hotel on the lake. And it looks like there may be a couple of others.

You know, you can do all of those things in Toulouse, which is a pretty nice town, and take a bus, shuttle, or tram to the airport. Ditch your car a day early.

It is a city, though.

Thanks! We've been to Toulouse several times, so L'Isle-Jourdain makes ours ears perk up. Much appreciated.

You need to define ‘near’ ;)

We did an inn-to-inn walk that started in Puycelci and ended in Cordes-sur-ciel. Both are wonderful hilltop towns with Cordes being bigger (but still small!).

These are to the NE about an hour drive from Toulouse so depends on which direction you are coming from and whether you are comfortable driving an hour to make your flight.

Rick would probably say Albi, he seems to really like it. It's big enough to have plenty of cafes and walking but much smaller than Toulouse.

For very small towns Puycelci is closest and Cordes sur Ciel is somewhat further. Rick doesn't speak highly of Cordes sur Ciel, it's mentioned only as a tourist trap that is way too crowded. A friend of mine visited on a tour and really liked it.

Are you coming from north or south? All of these are north of Toulouse (the airport is on the north side). If south, most places seem pretty tiny - except Carcassonne. Carcassonne might be a really good place to stroll off a dinner. I'll be visiting other small towns in the Pyrenees in a couple of weeks. They seem to be really small, however, and may not be a good choice.
