Prebook Cluny for weekend in May?

Hello-we will have a day and a half in Paris at the end of a RS tour, so not much flexibility. Do we need to pre book for the Musee de Cluny to avoid disappointment on a Saturday afternoon/Sunday in May, or will he be able to stay nimble and walk up and buy? I have read lots online but know that the real world in 2024 is sometimes different than the “before times.” Thanks in advance for anyone who has recent experience with these two museums and their throttling policies.

Peggy,
Last May (late May) 2023 we walked up and bought our tickets on the spot...no line, not busy, mid morning. It was a weekday (Tues.?). I don't know about this year. Have you checked the website regarding prepurchasing tickets? I hope youn get to go. It was wonderful!

I would never attempt to visit the Cluny without pre-booked tickets, especially when they have a special exhibition on. You may not be intending visiting the special exhibition, but it does affect the number of visitors they allow in.

You may be lucky, but you will likely have to wait in line for what could be a considerable time.
