I purchased a Eurorail pass in the USA for an upcoming trip to France. I purchased the pass with five days of travel, thinking that we'd mostly be travelling by car. But plans have changed. and now we likely will spend more time travelling by train. Anyone know if it is possible to purchase additional days on an already-purchased Eurorail pass? FYI that I have not activated or used the pass yet - we are still in the USA. Thx
Rather than trying to add days to a Eurorail pass, you should be trying to get your money back as it´s probably one of the most expensive and over-hyped ways to travel by rail.
No, you can't add days to the pass and I doubt that the suggestion above makes any sense, either. Unactivated Eurail passes are generally refundable about 85% less possible handling fees, but passes purchased with extra days or discounts like the recent Eurail Global sale offer that ended June 3rd are completely nonrefundable and nonchangeable. Look at using it for your five longest travel days and buying other tickets either as you go or earlier (if you have more than five that you consider to be long and expensive).
Thank you both!
