We will be driving from Caen to Amboise in September. My understanding is that it is a 3 hour drive. Are there possible stops that would be interesting and entertaining along the way?

On your GPS you could avoid toll roads and just drive through some towns along the way. Might add a hour to your drive, but you may see some interesting towns to stop in. Depends on how much of a hurry you are to get to Amboise. Perhaps some French natives have some suggestions.
