Pools in Paris

Hopefully you'll hear from someone with direct experience, but your question got me wondering about this and I found this very interesting NY Times article on the subject.

Note that many French pools require Speedo-style briefs for men, whether for exercise or just splashing around. At one point, it was because it was through that baggier suits were harder on aging filtration systems, but now it's a cultural things the gents just have to roll with.

Rick's Paris book, which has more "traveling with kids" info than the France book, suggests Piscine Josehine Baker, located on a barge in the Seine, with views and a retractable roof (p. 502). See also http://piscine.equipement.paris.fr/ or ask your hotelier for the pool nearest to them.

check out the facebook group - did you swim today. its an open group and full of people from all over that will give you good information on where to swim, pool or otherwise.
