My wife and I will visit Pont du Gard on September 22. We'll take the first bus out of Avignon. Rick's guidebook doesn't mention reserving tickets. After reviewing available information and the website, it looks to me like you don't need to reserve tickets ahead of time. Is that correct?

It is free and open to visit the Pont de Gard. The lower tier can be walked across without charge or reservation. There is a charge to cross the top tier and reservations are necessary (limited access needed).
