Pont de Gard day trip from Marseille

Arriving by cruise ship at 10am and leaving at 8. Looking to go to see the Pont de Gard, Les Baux and possibly a little of Avignon. Any recommendations on drivers/tours that would help? Like exploring streets and towns vs doing museums. Also want to take the trial up to the top of the Pont de Gard etc.

Reconsider how much you want to do. You’ll spend at least four hours for the round trip to Pont de Gard. I always wonder why folks don’t spend some time in Vieux Marseille - an interesting city that’s a melting pot of the Mediterranean. Walk around the harbor and splurge on authentic bouillabaisse.

About 4.5 of your 10 hours (if there is no traffic or congestion anywhere) will be spent in a car driving around but the only way I see that you can get to all three of these things done is if you rent a car so you can leave when you want and just hop from place to place or hire a private driver for around 600€. That being said, I have heard of tour that picks you from the ship in Marseilles and takes you to Avignon and Pont du Gard. That tour takes 9 hours or so they say. The person I know who looked at it found it on Viator but I am sure that you could find it outside of Viator by doing a search online for something like "private tour from Marseilles port to Pont du Gard and Avignon."

Another alternative if you don't want to go as far as Pont de Gard is the extensive Roman ruins of the city of Glanum, very near Les Baux. https://www.avignon-et-provence.com/en/monuments/ancient-roman-city-glanum-saint-remy-de-provence You could have a great day out with Les Baux, lunch in St Remy (which has a small museum of the findings from Glanum) or in another smaller town nearby and then Glanum in the afternoon or early evening. This past summer we had a great day arranged from Marseille through https://planetazur.com/en/activites-tours/ We did a sailing tour from the city. But they offer a range of experiences.
