Will be in Normandy mid July and would love a recommendation for a value hotel or B&B.
I can recommend the Churchill. Probably more mid-range than value.
To visit Normandy highly recommend B&B in Bayeau. We were there for 3 nights in 2023 and my family was there this April. We all agreed it was great and a very good location. Villa Aggarthi. If you mean this month suggest you get working on this today . good luck. Can't remember the price but it was worth it for sure. If you stay in Bayeau.be sure to visit the tapestry as it will be getting on a two year restoration starting 9/1 and closed to visitors.
Normandy is a huge geographic region....are you thinking of Bayeux or another part of the region?
We would like to see the D-Day sites, the tapestry in Bayeux, Mont St. Michel, and if time permits Honfleur. We will be there for four days.
Thank you for the recommendations! Much appreciated. Any other tips? restaurants?
Are you driving yourself or looking for a.tour guide?
Hello,
We were just in Normandy a week ago and stayed at Le Petit Matin in Bayeux (Bed and Breakfast) for 5 nights, the house was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious! We went on three tours with HQ Company Tours - Canadian, American, and Mont St-Michel. All guides were very knowledgeable and fun! We made reservations at Moulin de la Galette and La Manufacture, food and service were great. We loved staying in Bayeux and hope to go back one day. Have a great trip!

Bayeux is a great base for visiting the Normandy region. We booked our accommodations very late for our June 2024 trip so were limited in options due to so many being in the area for the Normandy anniversary etc. We stayed at a budget hotel, Campanile de Bayeux. It would be considered a motel here in the states. It served it's purpose and was fine and they offered a basic breakfast. They had AC but it didn't work that well at least for us but that's a rarity to find in AC. We had a rental car so would drive in the city center to check out shops and dine but it would have been a fairly easy walk. I'm not sure I would stay at this lodging again but the city is a perfect homebase so hopefully you can find something that suits you.
I stayed at the Campanile back in 2017 and would agree that it is a very basic place. I don't think I had Wi-Fi in my room. It's sort of on the edge if time, so not the greatest location, either. It may well be one of the least expensive options.
