Hi! We are driving between Luzern & Paris. We have two full days and two nights to get to Paris CDG (for our departure flight) and are looking for something fun for kids or just something unique to see/do. We were going to stay at Parc Asterix or Nigloland (for the kids) but hotels associated with these parks are booked which I am assuming means they will be crazy crowded. We also considered Disney; however, it is my understanding that they are preparing for an anniversary celebration next year and many attractions are closed. So....looking for ideas/options. This will be the end of a 3 week trip so we might just need to relax :) Appreciated.
I'll suggest Lyon - awesome Cathedral that overlooks the city. Take the funicular or walk up the winding hill. Very cool area with 2 roman amphitheaters nearby. Take the funicular down. Explore the old town with winding, narrow streets, interesting architecture and hidden passageways (traboules) which are like secret tunnels in buildings. Beautifully lit at night with many bridges, fountains, shopping streets and outstanding food. A great walking city.
